We Miss You Joe Biden

Joe Biden is very religious, very lawful, and very connected to those people that he led. All of those people that hounded him from Fox News, CPAC and various MAGA Republicans did not see the real qualities in that man that the historians will see. Are they shameless? You betcha!

Joe Biden - Thank you for doing a wonderful job!

I am 88 years old, a grandfather, a writer by avocation, a retired small business owner and an Army veteran. I have two older brothers buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Both of them saw serious combat, in fact the oldest one was shot by a Nazi sniper in WWII and he survived to go on to a war in Korea and a war in Vietnam before he retired from the military.

I have read perhaps 150 books on WWII. I served my country in France and Germany in 1956 and 1957 as a draftee. I can honestly say my military experience was really a wonderful experience. I used the GI Bill for part of my college education. Remember dear reader, during my visits to the Veterans Administration and the Social Security Administration over the past years I have seen nothing but professional service. I really love my flag, the U.S. Constitution and all of our Institutions. Those Institutions that some claim are not well run, and what’s their answer? Bulldoze them out of existence using chainsaws and half-truths? Yep. Those are the zealots who as Plato predicted, would drive our democracy to pass into despotism.

I write dear reader to praise President Joe Biden. Did he serve his country well as a public servant for over 50 years? You betcha. He was a Senator, a Vice President and a President that served with honor, dignity and decency. However, Donald Trump for the past 7 years has called him “sleepy Joe”, “a terrible leader”, “an enemy of the people”, and “a total failure in Afghanistan”.

Well dear reader, lets take a look at Afghanistan. The country of Afghanistan is the size of Texas, it has many many peaks and valleys and almost ten different ethnic groups, 99% of which are Islamic. They have never had an organized census emanating from the government. The guesses are a population of 36 million. Remember, Alexander the Great while he was conquering the middle east three thousand years ago, bypassed Afghanistan. In the nineteenth century the British occupied it twice and left. In 1979 the Russians invaded and got nowhere. They left in 1989 with their military tails between their legs. The United States spent twenty years there on a difficult and futile effort to beat the Taliban and others. Joe Biden made a tough decision and said it was time to get out in 2021. He consulted with his military, he consulted with his cabinet. He looked at some of the strategy created by his predecessor President Donald Trump. So, he finally decided, let’s pull out. So, as they evacuated there was chaos and mayhem naturally, and thirteen Americans lost their lives in that pull out. To put it in perspective dear reader, remember when we left Saigon in 1975 under the Presidency of General Ford, 62 lives were lost and much more equipment than that in Afghanistan, was lost. For Elon Musk and various other Republicans to condemn President Joe Biden for the withdrawal is hypocritical and misdirected. Please understand dear reader, that I have little doubt that historians will say Joe Biden did the right thing. Were there friendly people from Afghanistan that were left behind? Yes, in every withdrawal from a futile situation there are also local citizens who suffer. But we were getting nowhere, the British were getting nowhere, the Russians were getting nowhere and remember, Alexander the Great hiked on by without stopping. For President Trump to say that our Generals involved in Afghanistan should be punished for treason is so ridiculous that I won’t even comment anymore.

Dear reader, let’s take a look at some accomplishments of former President Joe Biden. Think of 17,000,000 new jobs! Then think of all the taxes, all the Social Security paid, all the Medicare fees paid and the buying power of all those new jobs in the marketplace. Remember, in eight years President Clinton found 22,000,000 new jobs, in eight years as President. Remember that Biden did Infrastructure Legislation, Gun Legislation, he made friends with the EU countries that had been left behind by President Trump. He strengthened NATO, he helped Ukraine with secret intelligence information about the Russians planning an invasion. He gave moral support and $139 billion and more to assist the Ukrainian military. Remember now, that since President Donald Trump has taken over he has turned his back on the EU and NATO. Meanwhile he has the U.S. directly dealing with Russia without Ukraine at the table. Please note dear reader President Donald Trump thinks more highly of his friend Vladimir Putin than he does Abram Lincoln, George Washington or Ronald Reagan. This may be the reason why our part in the peace mission between Ukraine and Russia is going nowhere.

Let’s talk about the 50 years that Joe Biden has been involved in Politics. Dear reader, imagine, 50 years in high positions in the U.S. government and he is not a rich man. What’s going on here? I thought politicians spending 50 years in service would cash in and make all kinds of money. President Donald Trump is selling $100,000 watches, bibles, shoes and who knows what else. He is making secret deals out of dark money, he’s got a Meme Coin LLC. Remember dear reader, former President Joe Biden is not a wealthy man from politics. He did make money on the book he wrote over his deceased son Beau Biden. So, let’s remember he didn’t cash in on his service. He served his country well. And for the Speaker of the House to call him the “leader of the Biden crime family” is way beyond improper and shameful. And for Fox News and CPAC to continually call President Biden dishonest is utterly and completely false. Hunter Biden, his son, did get into trouble over taxes, over drugs, and over an unregistered gun. What did it cost Hunter Biden because of that? Well, it cost him to be on Fox News practically every evening as the pundits targeted him. They made hay on this poor man’s misdeeds. The hypocrisy of it all will not escape historians or a just God.

Remember in the future, as we look at a divided country where the current President is costing us our friends in Europe, our friends in Canada and the situation with China is looking horrendous as of this date.

Remember what was handed over to President Donald Trump. In October, we were the envy of the free world economically, Wall Street admitted we were in great shape and of course last February 2023 over 100 political science professions making a list of U.S. Presidential performances ranked Donald Trump dead last and he broke a 4 year record for a new President spending just short of $8 trillion of new debt. Meanwhile with just 3 years into his Presidency, those same professors ranked Joe Biden 14th out of 46 Presidents. History will judge both gentlemen, no question. And what else was left for Donald Trump? An Infrastructure Legislation that has at least two more years left to make improvements throughout the United States. Many of those granted monies will go into red states that voted against the Infrastructure Bill.

I cannot leave without saying something I can no longer tolerate.  President Donald Trump has a very strange need to speak of Joe Biden in every single political speech that I have seen him make. He must constantly revile and snarl at the Presidency of Joe Biden. This includes April 8, 2025, when he was speaking before the MAGA Republican Congress. He must know deep down that Joe Biden in fact did a good job as President of the United States, because he condemns him constantly. He does it so much that normal decent people should find it disgusting. Now Donald Trump is riding the wave of a self-proclaimed mandate, when in fact he only won by 1.4 percent over Kamala Harris. He is now on a wild tear over Project 2025 and tariffs. Dear reader, as I have said in earlier BLOGS, do not forget President Trump denied several times that he had anything to do with Project 2025 and he said it would not be part of his Administration. Now as he is attempting to kill off all our Institutions, he will offer only chaos and mind-boggling mayhem. Elon Musk is head of DOGE and calls all Federal Employees “weeds”. He wants to get rid of the Institutions or the “weeds” will come back. They are now hurting all seniors on Social Security who must now worry about their status since Elon Musk said the Social Security Administration is a Ponzi Scheme. They want to get rid of 80,000 veterans working at the Veterans Administration, by June. They stopped deliveries of USAID food that was in transit that is is now rotting in warehouses throughout the world. It is my opinion because of all the suffering, we will see now and later that the four major provocateurs on Project 2025 and tariffs are President Donald Trump, Speaker of the House Michael Jonson, Vice President JD Vance and of course Elon Musk. The intemperate, senseless harm and cruelty they are using is sick behavior in my opinion. Is this wicked ride all necessary? I don’t think so. It is only in their mind, their ideological need to flatten out our 238-year-old successful experiment in politics under the U.S. Constitution. Its my opinion that these four men have male body parts smaller than Red Rider BB gun ammunition! Their minds are on advancing billionaires, their minds are on getting more power, their minds are on getting more money. All of the streamlining they are doing so to speak in Project 2025 and tariffs, is to simply pay for the renewal of the tax structure that is running out from seven years ago. They want to make good on their promise to the billionaire class. Will the average person get anything? Yes, trickle down, pennies here and there. Meanwhile the enemies worldwide, we are accruing, should be an outrage to everyone. Canada is already down 70% of the normal visitor rate to the United States. Canada has said we are no longer a reliable neighbor. I could go on and on about this mess that we are about to present to our children and grandchildren. These MAGA Republicans are anti-science, anti-rule of law, and they are hell bent on retribution and revenge on anyone who does not agree with them. Come on, this is a form of madness. And George III has revisited our country! He is sitting in the White House with the attitude of that king. He didn’t get along with his subjects, and he was mean to the colonies, and of course we found out later that he was insane.  We don’t want our Executive Branch to be a unitary executive without our U.S. Constitution in control.

God deliver us from eighth grade bullies who can certainly dish it out on the playground, but they can’t take it. Winston Churchill often talked about his opponents who would say the most terrible things about him and when he fought back, his opponents became outraged. You get it, dear reader?

In closing dear reader, we must hug the rule of law tighter than ever. We must support our Supreme Court, District Federal Courts, and all those in law enforcement who abide in the U.S. Constitution. All Christians, all Jews, all Muslims, all agnostics, all atheists must now forget labels. We are not liberals, Democrats, Republicans, MAGA Republicans, or Independents. We must all be one, united to save our country from foolishness. Our children and our grandchildren need us all at this very moment, we must answer the call!

And we must seek God’s help and guidance along the way.
