We are a country of laws not of men. We respect the transfer of power, we honor the loyal opposition and should reject those who have broken their oaths to the Constitution and our flag. Every American voter must abide in the knowledge that truth in the polling place is a must. Our nation is worth fighting for to protect the future for our children and grandchildren. The truth will set us free!
Since 1974 and the impeachment of then President Richard Nixon there have been a lot of political failures to show respect for that government of and for the people of the United states. Nixon tried to control the FBI and the conduct of the Watergate investigation. He stonewalled often but ultimately, he had to resign.
Ex President Ronald Reagan had 19 political appointees indicted for wrongdoing and he often spoke of the U.S. government “…being the problem”. He demanded that the Savings and Loan and Banks let up on the stringent loan application qualifications which ultimately led to billions in failed Savings and Loans and Banks. It costs the U.S. taxpayers over a trillion dollars in the final analysis to save the situation. However, was Reagan successful in breaking up the Russian regime and their occupation of western European countries since World War II ended in 1945? Yes, he was a successful President in that arena.
In the 90’s President Bill Clinton was also impeached, but it would be a stretch to suggest his affair with a White House assistant would be a threat to the U.S. government. He was the last President to balance the budget. At the end of his Presidency, he had a 72% approval rating and two months before his second term ended he received a standing ovation on a visit to Wall Street in New York City.
After President Bill Clinton left office there was a question of the vote count in Florida between the candidacy of Al Gore and George W Bush. The U.S. Supreme Court suspended the proceedings over the count which gave George Bush the victory to be President of the United States. Justice Sandra day O'Connor stated before she died that she regretted her vote to suspend the Florida ballot count.
Since then, the U.S. Supreme Court has been experiencing low public approval ratings as it seems to favor positions of power and money. And they show this favor by turning over much of the supervision to the states that employ excessive voter suppression and gerrymandering.
Now Roe v. Wade has been overturned and the health of many women over pregnancies in complicated situations has led to many doctors giving up their practice over the fear of legal outcomes as they try to treat complicated pregnancies.
The U.S. Supreme Court has no checks over their ethical behavior, as they take favors from notable wealthy citizens of the country. Do they accept gifts and are they being richly entertained? Yes, you betcha! Less than half the American voters approve of the situation over the social and legal activities of the United States Supreme Court. Now even ex-President Donald Trump boasts of his stacking of the Supreme Court with three appointees while he was President. What is now central to the Supreme Court's agenda? The answer is guns, voting, abortion, the environment, protecting financial interests, and the power and immunity question of the President of the United States. All of these things have been negatively impacted by our Supreme Court. According to many, perception of the Court carries a lot of weight in the political marketplace, much of it negative for our national interests.
The FCC fairness doctrine and its oversite of radio and television broadcasts was passed in 1947. It was suspended in 1987. Has that led to unbridled innuendo, disinformation, exaggeration, and lies in the political arena? There is no question the flannel tongued bullies have been let loose in politics on radio and television. Free speech is one thing, but bluster and lies by the thousands, must be confronted if we are to have a respectful discourse in politics.
Those founding fathers in Philadelphia constructed a constitution 240 years ago that has lasted through a civil war, two world wars, and frequent smaller skirmishes.
We must reject tyranny which may rise up, and as Thomas Jefferson suggested we must reject it immediately and forcefully.

God bless our United States Constitution and our flag. We must also keep Ukraine in our thoughts and prayers as they fight tyranny at their border. We have obligations toward Ukraine because of NATO and other treaties. We are obliged to honor, and respect what they are going through every day in Ukraine. We must convey our heartfelt thanks to the soldiers of Ukraine and all of their civilian support.
